The Ancaster Montessori School was originally opened in 1984 by Daylene Lumis. The school is licensed by the Ministry of Education. It is family-owned and operated by Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) accredited teachers who have been trained either under Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or the American Montessori Society (AMS).

Our Learning Environment
Our school community of staff, students and parents now have four newly-renovated classrooms, a beautiful fenced-in playground, an auditorium used for recess during inclement weather and social events, and the use of other rooms within the Ryerson United Church, such as the beautiful Fireside room.
Admission begins between 15 months and 3 years of age. Our full Montessori program is three years. Quality Montessori programs count on parents’ three-year commitment; however, actual financial commitment is for one year at a time. New students are allowed a 30-day trial period. Application for admission for upcoming summer and fall programs can be made as of Feb 1st. Admissions are then on a first come, first served basis.
Get in touch with our staff to book an appointment today. We shall be pleased to give you a tour of our facility and curriculum. We are accepting registrations for the session starting in 2021.
The secret of good teaching is to regard the child’s intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of a flaming imagination.
